This year, for the first time in Qubiz, we wanted to bring, during Easter, a smile upon some children’s faces who struggles with family problems.As a matter a fact, it is a tradition in Qubiz to give something back to the local community around the Winter holidays. But this year we extended this tradition to the Spring Holidays.By having the great support of St. Joseph Primary School (https://stjoseph.skbg.nl/) from Lochem, The Netherlands, coordinated by Jos Steggink (one of Qubiz’s partners) in the last 3 months, we managed to gather together more than 170 presents for the childen from the Kindergaten and Primary School aided by the PRORroma Foundation from Tinca, Bihor County, about 30 km from our town, Oradea. The Kindergarten and Primary School is attended by 170 pupils.On the 30th of April, Mircea, our colleague, visited them. The children prepared a festivity, where they sang songs and recited poems about Easter and Spring. After this moment, they received their presents. There were sent for about 170 shoebox-presents, which included: notepads, pens, pencils, hygiene items and toys. The children were delighted about the presents they have received, especially because most of the children struggles family problems, 99% of them coming from poor Roma families.
Probably one of the lucky ones during this project were we, Qubiz Team, because we had to opportunity to bring smile on some troubled children’s face. We hope that this action was only a beginning, and we will have opportunities in the future to help them.We would like to thank our partners for their implication in this project:
