As it allows any device to connect and transfer data over a network without requiring minimal human or computer interaction, IoT enables us to create various connections with and within our environments.

IoT’s massive potential is confirmed by its exponential growth: a compound annual growth rate of nearly 20%. (source) This all adds up to over 30 billion connected devices by 2020. (source)

However, probably the first thing that comes to mind when mentioning IoT and connected devices are smart homes and wearables. Yet the possibilities unlocked by this technology go way beyond lifestyle improvements.

IoT is poised to have a major impact in various industries: transportation, manufacturing, construction and even healthcare. What’s more, it enables smooth, accurate data transfer that can be fed into building complex artificial intelligence applications. Connected devices can improve data collection, localization operations, measurement, monitoring and controlling and to assure and maintain the quality of goods.

The stats confirm this: of the companies that have chosen to implement IoT, 94% of them have already seen a return on investment. (source)

The IoT Solutions World Congress in Barcelona (14-16 October) brings together professionals from all over the world to discuss various scenarios, perspectives and how businesses can benefit from connected devices.

We’re looking forward to participating in this event, as facilitators, users, and providers.

We look forward to meeting and discussing your challenges in this area.
