In 2019 we had the 10th edition of the Qubiz Summer Camp. To mark this special occasion, we moved the event abroad for the very first time, to a 4-star resort in Hajdúszoboszló, Hungary. To say that we had a good time would be an understatement – and we have pictures to prove it!

This 10th edition also got me reflecting on why is the Summer Camp a Qubiz tradition. Since this should be a light, summery article, I tried to keep the list short. So, without further ado, here are the top 5 reasons we have company Summer Camps:

Impressions from the Summer Internship

For us at Qubiz, the Summer just doesn’t feel right without an internship. This year, the aim of the program was to add new features to the Research Activity Management System we developed for the University of Oradea. For this, we selected six talented Computer Science students.

The internship started with two weeks of a crash course and continued with four weeks of intense software development split up in 2 sprints. By the end of the six weeks, we used all ceremonies of the SCRUM methodology. But enough of the boring details, let’s see the participant’s perspective on the internship:

Our favorite trainings and conferences in 2019 (so far)

Published on July 17, 2019
- in Blog, Opinion, Projects & Know-How

Excellence may sound like a buzzword, but for us, it expresses our constant appetite for innovation and technical proficiency. We consider it to be an essential ingredient of a good working environment, that’s why it’s one of the values that define the Qubiz Culture (aka Qubizm).

To stay true to this value, we set up an internal system that helps colleagues achieve their full potential. We constantly support our team by investing in hard and soft skills training sessions, materials, and periodic performance reviews. We compiled a list of the training sessions and conferences that our colleagues found the most useful this year. What other conferences would you recommend? Let us know in the comments section!

The following article is a high-level overview of the subject and is based on the lecture our colleague gave on the subject at the

We can debate which season is the best, but Summer has an ultimate advantage over the other three. It’s the season when we go on the holidays that we’ve been waiting for since Christmas. And so does our colleagues, so there’s a low season at the office. Sometimes you get the perception that even the time itself slows down. That’s why Summer is a great opportunity to take a step back, and think about what’s the next step for you.

Outsourcing today

The outsourcing phenomenon is definitely not a new one. We’ve seen a constant shift in recent years towards better and broader access to IT expertise at lower overall costs for businesses operating in the West. For companies in the DACH region, it’s been increasingly obvious that countries in Eastern Europe have a distinct advantage when looking at cultural similarities, including having German-speaking experts. A recent report for 2019 by the Worldwide Group, finds that, in Romania, 33 out of 40 companies analyzed use German during service delivery.
