10 years is a milestone where you stop to count all the things you are proud of and thankful for. In our case, we’re most proud of our colleagues. Some of our colleagues are with us since the foundation of the company, others joined the fun a little bit down the road. It is exciting to see their careers evolve over the years together with the company. In this article (the first in a mini-series) we share a few of the Qubiz team members’ career stories.
Yet, a company is made of its people and we’re one big team. The occasion also called for mentioning some of our special, somewhat personal moments.
So, here we go, 10 fun memories from 10 years of Qubiz.
Yes, this year we marked 10 years of Qubiz and with this occasion we wanted our Summer Camp to be special. The HR and Qubiz overall didn’t spare any effort to achieve this, and in the end, our colleagues and loved ones were spoiled with a fantastic long weekend full of surprises, fun activities (more on this later), and relaxation.

To Arsenal Park for the third time in a row!
We like Arsenal Park, but this wasn’t the reason why we chose the location for the third time in a row. The truth is, our Cluj & Oradea offices combined account for 170+ colleagues. And then we invited our partners and kids, resulting in an astonishing figure of 282 people. Arsenal Park is among the few locations that can accommodate such a big number of tourists. Here’s what 282 people look like:
When someone mentions 10 years, you instantly think: “Oh, that’s such a long time!”. But 10 years is more than that. 10 years is a journey.
For us, it’s been a journey from startup to established company, from a small team of 3 to a super team of 160 (and counting).
Since it’s been quite the ride, we looked back a bit to count the big moments. We’d like to share our story with you – so read on: 10 important business moments in our journey.
Even if we didn’t get the best weather (gross understatement), we had a lot of fun at the first edition of Qubiz Bike Ride last year. So much that we decided to do it again. This time when it’s a bit warmer outside.
So, we scheduled the second Qubiz Bike Ride for the 16th of June.
We always enjoy a good challenge, we’re not fans of the comfort zone. And this is just what the first Qubiz internal hackathon turned out to be: an awesome challenge.
Until 7 PM that day, 15 March had been as normal a day as any at Qubiz. Meetings, emails, work, lunch break, ping-pong, meetings, emails.
And just before we left the office, in came an email that would make the day special.
Less than half of the startups are still in business 5 years after they’ve started. (source) And here we are celebrating 10 years of Qubiz.
Since it’s a big achievement and a big milestone, we wanted to take a moment and share what we learned along the way – see the article.
When we planned Qubiz Bike Ride, the weather forecast indicated that 23rd of September was the perfect autumn day. With a temperature of about 20 degrees Celsius and a bit of sunshine, it was just the day for a bike ride.
Much to our surprise, 23rd of September turned out to be a rainy day. Come to think about it, probably one of the rainiest days this year.
Still, cold, rainy weather and all, the first edition of Qubiz Bike Ride was quite successful.
Maybe we don’t mention this as often as we should, but we’re really into sports. We play football, basketball, volley, and some of us go swimming or hit the gym regularly. Still, there is a special place in our hearts for riding our bikes.
Whenever possible, we bike to work instead of taking the car. Sometimes we get together for a longer bike ride on the hills of Oradea. Usually it’s good fun as we get to hang out together and do some exercise at the same time.
…And it was on one of these occasions that a thought popped up: what if we organised a bigger bike ride with, let’s say, 200 people? That’s how we got the idea for…
