About the Experienced Data Scientist Role

We're looking for an Experienced Data Scientist with deep expertise in AI, ML, and large language models (LLMs) to lead the development of AI-driven solutions that make a real impact. In this role, you will have the autonomy to design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models while helping shape our AI strategy at an enterprise level.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML models, with a focus on LLMs and deep learning.
• Define and oversee AI strategy, ensuring the integration of machine learning into business processes.
• Research, fine-tune, and optimise large-scale AI/ML models for various applications.
• Architect and implement scalable AI/ML pipelines for training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Guide teams in AI/ML model selection, hyperparameter tuning, and performance evaluation.
• Develop NLP applications, including text generation, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, and knowledge extraction.
• Utilize data visualisation techniques to present AI-driven insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to ensure AI/ML solutions align with company objectives.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior data scientists, fostering a culture of AI/ML excellence.
• Keep up with advancements in AI/ML, LLMs, and responsible AI practices, applying innovative approaches to real-world challenges.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven expertise in AI, ML, deep learning, and natural language processing.
• Hands-on experience with LLM architectures (e.g., GPT, Llama, Claude), fine-tuning methodologies; monitoring and evaluating them in production (LLMOps).
• Strong programming skills in Python, with proficiency in ML frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience in deploying AI solutions at scale, leveraging cloud AI services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complexity in AI-driven projects.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate AI/ML insights into business impact.

Nice-to-haves

• Master’s or PhD in AI, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience in training custom models or developing novel AI architectures.
• Knowledge of reinforcement learning, federated learning, or multimodal AI.
• Familiarity with ethical AI, explainability, and governance in AI-driven decision-making.
