Our client is a leading global company in cold storage logistics, known for their advanced automated warehouses that set new standards in efficiency, energy conservation, and reliability for storing frozen food products. The company's systems guarantee the accurate and dependable storage and distribution of perishable goods, ensuring that the product's quality is maintained throughout the supply chain.
Our software development team is thrilled to collaborate on a technically complex project with this client. We have teamed up with Microsoft to pave the way for next-generation data, analytics, and cloud infrastructure solutions, specifically for warehouse management. This approach will reform warehouse operations worldwide, providing resilience, efficiency, and flexibility. Plus, it will make our data and analytics capabilities easily accessible to Microsoft's customers.
We aim to enhance clients' data management and tech infrastructure with Microsoft Azure, aiming to transform discovery, analysis, and trading in capital markets. Responsibilities
- Take a lead role in developing a mission-critical application with strict uptime requirements, ensuring its reliability and availability.
- Participate actively in the team's development process by providing technical guidance and expertise in new requirements and current feature development;
- Collaborate with Product Owners (POs) and Business Analysts (BAs) to oversee new implementations and guide the development of new features;
- Lead the system architecture design, creating structures and components that meet the project's requirements and objectives;
- Effectively communicate architectural decisions to upper management, technical leads, and the development team;
- Utilize communication strategies such as Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and employ verbal and written communication where appropriate;
- Shepherd the implementation process by actively participating in the analysis, development, and deliverables phases;
- Work closely with development teams to ensure alignment with architectural guidelines and best practices;
- Evaluate the architecture to ensure it aligns with the agreed Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) set by the business;
- Monitor and assess performance, scalability, security, and other critical aspects to ensure compliance with business needs;
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including project managers, business analysts, and quality assurance teams, to ensure the successful delivery of the project;
- Continuously evaluate and refine the architecture to improve system efficiency, reliability, and performance;
- Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and architectural trends to drive innovation and improvement;
- Identify and mitigate risks related to the architecture and implementation of the software solution;
- Proactively address potential issues to minimize disruptions and ensure project success;
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, helping them grow their technical skills and understanding of architectural principles;
- Lead by example, fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on delivering high-quality software solutions.
Requirements
- Texperience in architecting and engineering, large-scale commercial applications and services;
- Proficiency in one or more system-level programming languages (C#, Java, Python, Rust, etc.) and a willingness to learn new ones;
- Excellent knowledge of OOP, Separation of Concerns, and Design Principles;
- Proven understanding of one or more Cloud environments (Azure/ AWS). Experience in Azure is a plus;
- Proven, demonstrated practical experience in using CI/CD DevOps tools (Azure DevOps is a plus);
- Good grasp of multithreading, synchronization, asynchronous, cloud programming;
- Understanding of system integration and hardware integration;
- Proven experience in working in an environment of highly scalable applications where performance is critical. (Working in an application labelled mission critical is a plus);
- Degree in a technical discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, etc.) or sufficient work experience to demonstrate proficiency at this level;
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
