Groundbreaking Liquid Analysis Software: Achieving Results In Under 5 Minutes
HEALTHCARE | United Kingdom | FIGURA ANALYTICS
Figura is a spinout business from Loughborough University. Its academic founders spent many years researching and developing their patented nanopore technology, which can deliver precise measurements of particles in a solution.
None of this would have been possible without the right software to capture and interpret data.
Our collaboration resulted in software used to characterise, identify, and quantify particles in liquid samples in minutes instead of hours , as previously done with traditional methods.

How Qubiz helped Figura Analytics
Figura Analytics has revolutionised liquid contamination detection. Our collaboration enables researchers to quickly visualise and identify liquid particles.

Our challenge
As a team of scientists, Figura Analytics wanted to challenge traditional methods of liquid contaminant detection. However, they didn’t have the knowledge and development specialists to build their own software.
Our approach
As their partners, we offered business and technical consultancy. We built an international, cross-functional team that not only understands the intricacies of their hardware, but also translates requirements into the right software. Additionally, we provided strategic guidance to identify the most cost-effective pathways to achieve their goals within their budget.
These applications are the Figura Data Reader, which controls devices, valves, and pumps to capture data from liquid samples, and the Figura Data Analyzer, which processes the captured data, allowing users to generate graphs and charts to understand the information.
Data Filtering and Calibration
Implementation of specific algorithms, such as Data Forest Classifier, for data refinement.
Graphical Representation
Enables users to develop graphs and charts to be able to understand the data and the information with data visualization components.
Sophisticated Analytical Methods
A combination of statistical methods and machine learning, applied to estimate the shape of a particle and to determine with a high degree of confidence whether the particle is a contaminant or not.
Instantaneous Analysis
The software performs instant analysis, ensuring that data capture is followed immediately by transformation, making it ready to use and interpret the second the user wants to do so

Business outcomes
This collaboration enabled Figura Analytics to drastically reduce the time needed for contamination detection from days to minutes, utilizing statistical methods and machine learning to identify contaminants. The resulting software has had a significant impact on research and data analysis, providing instantaneous results and transforming the field of liquid analysis.
Almost instant detection with critical applications in healthcare, beverage manufacturing and government institutions
The applications were instrumental in Figura Analytics’ launch on the market, helping them grow sustainably
Building the project from A to Z allowed us to optimise resources and deliver the best solutions despite budget constraints.

What our partners say

Rhush Maugi
As a team of scientists, we had no experience building software. Our collaboration with Qubiz has been nothing short of incredible. We have been able to deliver two successful products to our clients. Additionally, Qubiz provided a pathway to determine the most cost-effective way to achieve our goal.

Mark Platt
This software is transformative, capturing the data and making it ready to use the second the user wants to do so. It has had a massive impact on the research and methods we’ve been able to deploy
